Week Beginning October 5

Owls, Owls, everywhere.  We have some great owl puppets from Folkmanis in the Library... The best one turns her head and blinks! The kindergarteners have been heard some real owl calls and have seen the book Owl Moon by Jane Yolen. It is a wonderful, quiet book about venturing out into the woods in the dark (with adult) to listen for owls.

The children are doing  great job remembering to bring books back to school. In a few weeks parents and teachers should be receiving an email from me Monday morning to remind you of the books that have been checked out to your child/children.
The lesson for these last few books have been around book care: how to carry a book; how to remember to bring books back ("The best place for library books is in your backpack") and the No, No, Never, Nevers... like leaving a book in the rain; reading in the bathtub; and leaving books on the floor.
