Beginning the 12th

Playing Catch Up!

The Book Fair has been set up in the Library for the last week so I have been visiting your children in their classrooms. The Book Fair runs twice a year and is always very successful!

I read Mrs. Wishy Washy, by Joy Cowley this week, in which three barn animals romp in the mud, are all tidied up by Mrs. Wishy-Washy, then revert to their misbehavior. Your children have loved acting this out with Library Puppets and I am always amazed at how quickly they learn the story! They are able to recite it with ease after only one or two tellings.

We also read Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young. This is a masterful retelling of the Blind Men and the Elephant, with amazingly rhythmic illustrations. I love to teach this book and its predictions.
